About

Biogas Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA) was established in 1979.Based on the institute," Asia-Pacific Biogas Research and Training Center (BRTC), Chengdu, China "was founded in 1981 according to an agreement between the Chinese Government and UNDP.BRTC is an only international center in China for research and training on biogas technology.

BRTC is mainly engaged in research & development on biomass energy resources and their comprehensive utilization, theoretical foundation and application techology of anaerobes, anaerobic treatment of wastes and waste water from industry and application technology of anaerobes, anaerobic treatment of wastes and waste water from industry and animal farms as well as of domestic sewage based on the criterion of national waste water disposal. BRTC offers the following services :Design and construction of large and medium sized bogas plants and the corresponding devices ;Desing of industrial and civil buildings; Design and construction concerning rural energy, ecological system and commercialized household biogas digesters; Research and development of appliances and parts for biogas production, usage and energy-saving; National and international training on biogas technology, technical assistance to foreign countries and international cooperation; Authorized supervision and test for quality of biogas appliances all over the country; Edition and publication of the quarterly journal "China Biogas" which is issued at home and abroad. Lump-sum contracts of straw and stalk gasification as well as design and manufacture of devices concerned.
