The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the only higher education institution in the country that provides training, retraining and advanced training of civil servants.

1994 - the establishment of the National Higher School of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NHSPA) (on the basis of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR, founded in 1942) (Presidential Decree No. 1845.1 of 29.08.1994).

1998 - the establishment of the Academy of Public Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the merger of the NHSPA and the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training for Civil Servants under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Presidential Decree No. 40784.994 of 18/09/1998).

2000 - transfer of the Academy to Astana.

2005 - Institution Academy public administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan by merging the academy of public service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and transferring the functions of the Diplomatic Academy of the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilev newly established institution (Resolution of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 1583 of 31.05.2005).

2008 - reorganization to the republican state enterprise; Establishment of the National School of Public Policy aimed at training elite civil servants.Assignment of the administrative authority to the Agency for Civil Service and Anti-Corruption Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Resolution of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 698 of November 28, 2008).

2012 - Launch of the joint EU-Academy project on reforming the Academy. May 2012, implementation of the Academy Development Concept. Introduction of such recognized educational programs as Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Policy, Doctor of Public Administration and Doctor of Public Policy.

2014 - the adoption of the Development Strategy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2020, which is aimed at further modernizing the system of training civil servants based on literate and practical approaches to development,
