OICE - Italian Association of Engineering and Architectural companies Member

OICE is an employers' Association, belonging to Confindustria (the Confederation of Italian Industry), which represents Italian engineering, architectural and technical economic consulting organizations.

Founded in 1965, owing to the constant increase in the number of its members, OICE now unites all the major Italian engineering companies and most of the best qualified small and medium firms in the sector.
A free, non-party and non-profit-making Association, OICE unites its members in a spirit of collegiality and mutual co-operation, representing them with a view to improving their exploitation and utilization, and helping to promote and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.

OICE members include Italian engineering, architectural and technical-economic consulting organizations (or similar European Union organizations performing major activities in Italy), whatever their set-up, endowed with independent operational capacity, adequate means and structures, appropriate intellectual and technical skills for performing professional services for third parties, independently and at economic conditions recognised as being profitable by the market. An amendment to the articles, introduced for the purpose of representing the category as a whole, makes it possible even for small professional offices and organizations to become full OICE members.

OICE members make the following commitments:

• To observe current rules of professional behaviour, including those expressed in the Articles and particularly by the Association and the Ethical Code.

• To render services at economic conditions based on actual costs, i.e. including not only all direct costs, but also an adequate percentage for overheads and profit margin.

• To contribute the ideas, energies and skills that are essential to the life of the Association.

• To declare their sectoral specializations and services, with a value of self-certification.

OICE is member of FIDIC - International Federation of Consulting Engineers. Founded in 1913, FIDIC is charged with promoting and implementing the consulting engineering industry’s strategic goals on behalf of its Member Associations and to disseminate information and resources of interest to its members. Today, FIDIC membership covers 97 countries of the world. OICE is also a foundermember of EFCA, the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations, with headquarters in Brussels, which numbers 27 national Associations, representing the sector of organised engineering at international level.
