About

Coelacanth and Associates are based in Tokyo and Nagoya. Principal architects are Yasyuki Ito, Susumu Uno, and Kazuko Akamatsu.

In 1986, seven people, including Kazuhiro Kojima and Yasuyuki Ito, who were in the doctoral course at the University of Tokyo, co-founded Coelacanth.
In 1991, he won the first prize at the Osaka Peace Center (Peace Osaka) International Competition, and in 1997, he won the Architectural Institute of Japan Award at Chiba Municipal Utase Elementary School.
Renamed to C+A (Coelacanth and Associates) in 1998. In 2005, it was further reorganized into CAt (C+A tokyo) and CAn (C+A nagoya), and based in offices in Tokyo and Nagoya, respectively, it has been presenting architecture both in Japan and overseas.
