Since its establishment in 1978, Universal Construction has, in various parts of the country, constructed commercial buildings, hotels, villas, apartments embassies, hospitals, clinics, health centres, laboratories, stores and warehouses, schools, seed processing plants, coffee washing stations, and other industrial buildings. However, in recent years, the company has directed its focus towards the construction of low to mid-rise buildings.

Universal Construction also specializes in the installation and maintenance of elevators, escalators and moving walks, and is the sole Ethiopia distributor of ThyssenKrupp Elevator.
