The General Council of the Spanish Lawyers (CGAE) is the representative body, coordinator and superior executive of the Bar Associations of Spain and has, for all purposes, the status of public law corporation, with its own legal personality and full capacity to the fulfillment of its purposes.

Technologically we are at the head of the legal professions in Spain and Europe. Free Justice and the Office shift are a model that works efficiently 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in defense of fundamental rights. Among the services that the Legal Profession has put at the service of citizens, the management of the Electronic File of Free Justice, which was used in the first 9 months of 2013 by more than 400,000 people, is a system that saves costs and time. But there are many other things that Spanish Law offers.

Mission

The General Council of the Spanish Lawyers is the representative body, coordinator and superior executive of the 83 Bar Associations of Spain and among its fundamental missions is the organization of the professional practice of the lawyers, to watch over the prestige of the profession, to demand Bar Associations and their members fulfilling professional and deontological duties and working towards a more agile, modern and effective Justice.

The General Council is the voice of the Spanish Lawyers, the permanent defense of the right of defense and human rights, especially of the most disadvantaged, at the service of the Colleges, of lawyers, of citizens and of Justice, understood as "Give each one his own".

An influential lawyer, leader of opinion, with social projection, at the forefront of the implementation of new technologies and close to young people, future clients and future lawyers.

Responsible for and advocate for a public service such as Free Justice and the Office shift that are essential in a social and democratic State and Law to guarantee access to justice and the rights of the most vulnerable.
