Iğdır Üniversitesi / Igdir University

The history of Iğdır University goes back to Iğdır Vocational School. Iğdır Vocational School started it’s education in 1995-1996 academic year with a single program, 16 lecturers and 20 students. Today , the school has 8 first education and 5 second education programs and 1500 students. The steps taken since 2001 to establish a Faculty of Agriculture in Iğdır came to an end in 2006 and finally Iğdır Faculty of Agriculture established in 2006. It started it’s education in 2008-2009 academic year with it’s 30 students. Iğdır University also founded in the same year.
