KIOS Foundation Member

The KIOS Foundation, founded by 11 Finnish NGOs working in the fields of human rights and development, contributes to the realisation of human rights by assisting civil society in developing nations with human rights activities. The Foundation’s work currently focuses on South Asia and East Africa.

KIOS is a unique Finnish organisation which channels direct support to human rights projects that are planned and implemented by civil society organisations in developing countries.

The organisations KIOS supports strengthen the realisation of human rights through a wide range of activities, including human rights education, awareness raising, campaigning, human rights monitoring and documentation, advocacy work and legal aid.

In addition to providing funding, KIOS supports the organisations by strengthening the expertise, networks and security of those working to defend human rights.
