About
eMJee consult Netherlanfds VoF, created in 2007 in the Netherlands as a partnership and in 2008 as eMJee Consult Tanzania Ltd as a company limited by shares, are two independent consultancy firm with expertise in water (resources) management and natural resources management, supporting a variety of clients from the development agencies and the private sector.
eMjee has a small team of fixed staff and opts for finding the right expertise for each assignment with the aim to have technical expertise and local knowledge combined in the same multidisciplinary team. Over the years eMJee has identified a large pool of associates to ensure cultural compatibility with the recommendations provided
eMjee operates in the following sectors:
- Water resource development initiatives
- Watersupply
- Natural resource management
- Governance and social accountability
- Sustainable business development
EMjee is engaged in agricultrual water management, evaluations and backstopping assignments for a variety of clients ranging from MCC, Worldbank, DFID, SDC, Netherlands Embassy, ENABEL, AFD and others. eMJee is frequently invited to partner with international consultantcy firms like IMC, SHER, AGRER, ERM and others in its various fields of operations.
We have been involved in the PbR for rural water suply, funded by DFID and assessed 45.000 water points on various criteria. As part of the worldbank program we assessed water resource management of planned and unplanned irrigation schemes, looking for opportunites to improve the water resource management and make it more sustainable.
In the international assignments the focus is very much on agricultural water user organisations in irrigation schemes, splitting the water management, operations and maintenance from the agricultural practices, harvest and sales. This requires strengthening the government entities, service providers and water user organisations to be able to take on new roles and responsibilities. This kind of initiatives is provided in Burundi, Rwanda, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Guinée, Niger and Morocco.
Where possible (legal requirements/ restrictions) we use drone operations for quick updating resource features (basins, river intakes, agricultural management)
Apart from Africa, the consultants from eMJee have also worked in Ecuador
