KTNET is the first in Korea in providing electronic data interchange service to the trading community , which allows trading firms to process trade procedures faster and more accurate than ever. KTNET's trade automation service is the result of the government's efforts for streamlining complicated trade procedures and creating trade-oriented environment. For that the Ministry of Trade , Industry and Energy in 1989 set up a comprehensive master plan for automation and it prepared a law of " Act on Promotion of Automation of Trade" in 1989. Against this background , KTNET is designated as Trade Automation Provider by the government and is entitled to providing to trading community automation services such as export and import license, LC, local LC, sending and receiving financial settlement slip and etc.
