With its approx. 220 employees, the State Chancellery plans the basic guidelines of government politics, coordinates the current work between the ministries and represents them to the State Parliament. Hessen’s mouthpiece at the European Union
Since 1998, there has been a Representation of the State of Hessen at the European Union in Brussels, which is in charge of coordinating the State Government’s European politics and takes care of Hessen’s regional partnerships. The State Representation is responsible for ensuring that the interests of the State of Hessen are looked after in Brussels.
