Judetul Harghita (Harghita County)

About Harghita county we can say that it is located in the middle of Transylvania, in the eastern part of Romania, it is no secret that its territory is 6,639 km2, and in 2011 it had 310,867 inhabitants. According to the library data, the county is composed of 9 cities, of which 4 municipalities, 58 localities and 236 villages. Established in 1968, the name is not ancient, but it refers to the Harghita Mountains, the second highest peak belongs to this mountain range (Harghita Mădăraș 1801 m); Rățitiș peak (Călimani Mountains, 2021 m) - the highest in the county exceeds it only slightly.
