The University of Monastir was created by Decree No. 2102-of the year 2004, dated September 2, 2004. This Creation is announced within the framework of the reform that the university education system knows, reform based on the decentralization of services and the objective of improving the profitability of this system as part of a global approach that takes into consideration the scientific and academic as well as the social side. The recent noble decision of this creation, the University of Monastir includes 16 universities divided between the governorates of Monastir and Mahdia, some of which are well rooted and have contributed generously in the innovation of modern Tunisia .
