EUREGIO

The EUREGIO is a Dutch-German public-law Joint Regulation with a special binational structure. This ensures that the interests of the Dutch and German members are equally represented. 129 municipalities, cities, (Land-)Kreise and Water Boards are members of the EUREGIO. On the German side, the region covers parts of the federal states of Niedersachsen and North Rhine-Westphalia. On the Dutch side, parts of the provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel and Drenthe are members of the oldest cross-border partnership.The structure of the EUREGIO bodies is binational in nature, so that the interests of the Dutch and German members are equally represented. The EUREGIO Council is the highest political body. In the EUREGIO Council, problems are raised in cross-border political groups, possible solutions are proposed and projects are discussed and approved. The three committees “Mozer – Social Development”, “Economics and Labor Market” and “Sustainable Spatial Development” are responsible for the substantive treatment of cross-border issues and INTERREG projects.
