Teatro Stabile di Torino

In 2015 the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism recognized the Teatro Stabile di Torino as a National Theater.

Mission - Teatro Stabile of Turin

• Produce, represent and host, with a stable and continuous character and in the directly managed theatrical venues, prose, dance and musical theater performances of high artistic level;
• to preserve, disseminate and promote Italian art theater, from the classical repertoire to contemporary dramaturgy, also on an international level;
• programming shows by authors and in foreign languages, to cultivate the European identity of the spectators and in particular of the younger generations;
• to be a meeting point, comparison and exchange of ideas and experiences between intellectuals, artists, directors, authors, actors, technicians and artisans to renew the social and civil, as well as cultural, centrality of the theater;
• contribute to increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of the area, participating in the internationalization process and integrating with the tourist-cultural industry;
• promote the image of Turin and Piedmont by exporting its theatrical productions to Italy and abroad;
• improve the quality of life of the resident population, educate the public culturally, offer intelligent and accessible entertainment to all groups of users;
• guaranteeing qualified employment for artists and technicians;
• support with innovative processes the business incubation, the creativity of emerging talents, the experimentation activity in the scenic field, the multidisciplinarity, the differentiation of the offer;
• carry out professional, artistic and technical training activities, through its own training agency accredited and financed by the ESF;
• carry out in a structural way the functions of documentation, archiving and scientific research, also in relation to the Universities, as part of the activity of its Study Center, recognized as a research institute by DPCM;
• produce and disseminate editorial, educational and promotional material inherent to the institutional activity in an innovative way with the help of new communication technologies;
• dialogue and collaborate with the independent realities of the area to enhance local talents and contribute to the organic growth of the Torino Theater System;
• design and produce in an integrated way with other important cultural institutions - Turin, national and foreign - to increase the competitiveness of the offer and the circulation of projects;
• preserve and enhance two buildings of great historical and architectural value such as the Carignano Theater and the Gobetti Theater.
