On January 1, 2012, Kutxabank began its activity, a bank that arises from the integration process of the three Basque Banks -BBK, Kutxa and Vital-, the only three shareholders of the new entity, to which they transferred their financial business.

Kutxabank was born from a privileged position in terms of solvency, with a diversified balance sheet, a new corporate governance model and undisputed leadership in the territories in which we traditionally carry out our activity. We are an entity committed to people and to economic and social development as its main objective.

Our strategic focus is centered on a local banking model, and the entities that form part of the Group share common central processes, policies and services, which allow us to achieve economies of scale and sustainable profit. Our priority is our clients, since we base the business model on a relationship of closeness, trust and a long-term relationship with the people and SMEs in our environment.

At Kutxabank we maintain the commitment to return to society part of the recurring profit obtained, through the Obras Sociales that we carry out in each of the territories.
