About
OBJECTIVE: The objective of NET Africa is to work in partnership with emerging, and developing countries, innovators, universities and policymakers and others for understanding the interactions between the economy and the environment.
WETLANDS: Our primary focus is wetlands within Africa, including lakes, rivers, swamps and marshes. Focusing on preservation, technology, education and access.
Preservation
- Preserving wetlands and ecosystems through conservation and renewable energy projects, water conservation, and wetland valuation methods, techniques and programmes. Our conservation work also contributes to addressing sustainable food production practices and food security issues.
Technology
- Promoting entreprenueral eco-systems, creating links between technology, natural capital and the economy. We monitor biodiversity assets within Africa and within each wetland we conduct our work. Identifying renewable energy, solar, wind opportunities within wetlands.
Education
- Conducting research and educational courses and training in wetland valuation, conservation and fieldwork. Producing an academic journal, books and reports.
Access - Gender equality in gaining access to biodiversity asset opportunities.
