About
The CTA specializes in the diagnosis, support, treatment of psychological and relational problems of children, adolescents and adults with particular reference to those who, during growth, have experienced unfavorable experiences and traumas. The CTA model focuses on family relationships, focusing on individual functioning through attachment theory.
The CTA (Adolescent Therapy Center) was established in Milan in 1983 as a specialist psychotherapy service to support adolescents and their families, with particular reference to the most serious and complex cases.
The company "mission" consists in the promotion of psycho-social-health intervention in an ecological, ethical, multidimensional and integrated perspective, dedicated to children and adolescents with attachment difficulties exposed to traumatic experiences and to families in crisis. The line of development was twofold: on the one hand, the creation of specialized services in the area of child protection; on the other hand the construction of an integrated intervention model through the collaboration of different professional figures.
The strategic choice was to specialize in the management of services for children who need support because:
- live situations of prejudice in their biological family (Minor Protection Services),
- are involved in conflicts related to the separation and divorce of their parents (Mediation Services),
- they need to be supported in maintaining and rebuilding the relationship with fragile or troubled parents (Neutral Space),
- in need of being placed and accompanied in alternative growth paths, foster care and adoption with reparative purposes (Fostering Services and Adoption Services
CTA has developed offers of educational services that have resulted in the management of the “Piccolo Principe” light community and in the Residential Community for Minors: Base Camp.
The Clinical Psychotherapy Service has specialized in the treatment of children and adolescents with attachment difficulties, leading them to identify their caregivers as privileged interlocutors.
The psychotherapeutic offer is completed by the Specialized Minors Service which takes care of situations of maltreatment and sexual abuse and the Specialized Service for the support of Difficult Adoptions for adoptive crises.
