HSGME - Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration

The Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (H.S.G.M.E.) is a public law legal entity, supervised by the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy.

The HSGME is responsible to investigate and scientifically monitor geological and mining issues on behalf of the Greek State, as well as to conduct geological, hydrogeological and mining research in Greece along with exercising control and regulatory powers. Moreover, the HSGME, being the official Geological Survey of Greece, carries out studies and reports on issues pertaining to geosciences, geological hazards, geo-environmental topics, energy, mining and other related objects.

Persistent to its hundred-year efficient operation and tradition, the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (H.S.G.M.E.) is still spearheading science following the principles of innovation, extroversion and social contribution.
