FORDECO

Le Fonds de Reconstruction et de Développement du Congo, in short « FORDECO », was created on August 23rd 2003 to restore all things destroyed by the wars of 1994 and 1998 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC.)

It is a non-profit organization that has been created to restore roads infrastructures, hospitals, schools, social infrastructures, rights of women and of children, agriculture, fishing,   livestock, environment, etc. In short, the wars have destroyed the South Kivu Province in all matters and it t was important to restore where there was possibility of doing so.   

1. Goal of FORDESK : development of Human Being in 5 dimensions : moral, psychological, material, sanitary and  intellectual

1. Mission of FORDESK :

• Advocate for the respect of Human Rights in general and especially for those of the Child and of the Woman.
• Restore all social infrastructures destroyed by the war (sanitary  infrastructures, schools, roads)  
• Agriculture and live stock activities
• Build small hydraulic power centers for the development of rural areas
• Water and sanitation in remote areas
• Keep the environment and ecosystem
• Destroy ancestral cultures that block human development and enhance those contributing to it.
• Fight against Aids and taking in charge those affected.

1. Global Objective: Rebuild and restore all that was destroyed by the wars.   

1. Specific Objecive :

• Promote children’s rights, support orphans children and pay their school fees.
• Promote the rights of women and of those who are powerless in general
• Train the young girls, boys and other persons in need to use computer sciences, Internet and technology of information in general
• Restore roads, schools and sanitary infrastructures
• Launch the activities of agriculture, fishing and live stock
• Proposal of small projects of auto-funding
• Fight the HIV-AIDS by the means of information and support those who are affected.
• Provide villages with electrical power
• Keep a safe environment
• Break the customs that constitute a barrier for development.

 Beneficiaries: children and women in the areas affected by the wars.

We have liaison Office in Bunia and the Headquarters in Bukavu.  

 We have 6 centres

• Bukavu, Uvira, Baraka, Kaziba, Mwenga et Goma.
• Through our local partners, we are now in Ituri,  Beni et Butembo.
