ECPAT Austria was founded in November 2003 as a specialized agency against any form of commercial sexual exploitation of children. The working group is a nationwide platform of twelve non-governmental organizations working in the field of children's rights and development cooperation. ECPAT Austria sees itself as a specialist agency and contact person for combating the sexual exploitation of children in Austria. Since December 2006 ECPAT Austria is a non-profit association. ECPAT Austria is part of the international network ECPAT International consisting of 111 organizations in 97 countries worldwide, In cooperation with our network partners, government agencies and the private sector (eg the tourism industry), the ECPAT network works to protect children from sexual exploitation and to protect their rights. The headquarters of ECPAT International is in Bangkok, Thailand.
