GFE - Gioventù Federalista Europea (Young European Federalists)

The European Federalist Youth (GFE) is the youth group of the European Federalist Movement (MFE) and the Italian section of the Young European Federalists. The local sections of the GFE are located throughout the national territory, with members and militants of any citizenship and aged between 14 and 29 years.

The principles to which the GFE refers are those contained in the Ventotene Manifesto, developed in 1941. The analysis and the political proposals contained in the Manifesto are based on the awareness of the crisis of the national state - considered the main cause of the world wars and the affirmation of Nazi-fascism - and on the conviction that only the overcoming of the absolute sovereignty of the States through the creating a European federation would have ensured peace in Europe. The values of peace, supranational democracy, the rule of law, solidarity and subsidiarity therefore inspire the work of the GFE.

The GFE is an organization independent of traditional political forces and does not participate directly in the elections. It is based on the self-financing and voluntary work of the militants, who play a role of political initiative aimed at mobilizing political and social forces and all citizens on the strategic objectives that from time to time allow progress towards the European Federation and, in perspective, towards the world federation.
