About
The IES María Moliner began its journey in the 1977-78 school year, as a section of the Goya National Baccalaureate Institute.
It is in the academic year 1978 - 79, when it was already put into operation as Mixto nº6 de Zaragoza. The fact that it was mixed did not mean that the classes were mixed, but that both boys and girls attended but in different wings.
On February 20, 1984, when Mª del Carmen Sobrón Elguea was the director, a plaque with the name of María Moliner was discovered, from which time the Institute would bear the name of such an illustrious Aragonese. This act ( speech of the act) marked the beginning of a cultural week that was echoed in newspapers such as Heraldo de Aragón and El País .
The fact that it was mixed did not mean that the classes were mixed, but that both boys and girls attended but in different wings.
In the beginning, the IES building housed the Church of San Pedro Apóstol in what is currently the student room.
In the 1994-95 academic year, with the implementation of ESO, a corridor that belonged to CP Fernando el Católico was annexed to the initial building. Currently, the different workshops that are used in Secondary courses are found in it.
As of the 2001-2002 academic year, with the Institute now converted into the María Moliner Secondary School, vocational training courses are implemented for Families in Mechanical Manufacturing and Sociocultural and Community Services.
To house Cycles of this last family, a new building was officially inaugurated in the 2002-2003 academic year.
