About

The Canarian Health Research Foundation (FUNCANIS), promoted by the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government and the Canary Islands Health Service, was born from the merger of the Rafael Clavijo Canary Foundation for Biomedical Research and the Canary Research Foundation and Health (FUNCIS). Autonomous, its purpose is to promote and support research in the field of health sciences to contribute to the prevention of disease, to the promotion and protection of health, to the treatment and rehabilitation of the disease and to increase the degree of knowledge about the health of the population, as well as manage the investigation of the Canary Health Service that is entrusted by this body.

The Foundation was registered in 2014 with the aim of promoting and encouraging research in its broadest sense and reverting to the Society the application of scientific advances, through the protection of the population's health and the improvement in the quality of care and in patient care.

FUNCANIS maintains in each of the provinces of this autonomous community, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, both administration and management offices.
