ACI Costa Rica (Asociación Cultural de Intercambio de Costa Rica)

The Cultural Exchange Association of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting intercultural learning and international volunteering among young adults from different countries, ideologies, beliefs and cultures, as a means of rapprochement between the peoples of the world.

With 50 years of experience in Costa Rica we are experts in providing support to volunteers in their intercultural experiences, guiding them in their collaboration with social and ecological projects, allowing them to obtain new perspectives of the world while developing a better understanding of different cultures and of themselves.

We believe that these activities contribute to solidarity and friendship between the societies of our world. As well as sustainable human development and the possibility for our participants to grow and become global citizens: independent, multilingual, with intercultural compression and open mindedness.

ACI was founded in 1967 under the name of ICYE Costa Rica, then in 1983 it changed its name to the current Cultural Exchange Association, becoming the representative organization in Costa Rica of important international youth mobility platforms abroad.
