Automotive and Machinery was established in the year 1956, by Mr. Abobakr Omer Bazara, a visionary and pioneering entrepreneur, who is very popular among Yemenis. AMTC is the subsidiary of the old Bazara business in Aden, who were in the business of Timber and Foodstuff for over 200 years till the 1950’s and 60's, when the company branched out into importing Harvesters and Trucks from the USA and Skoda cars from Czechoslovakia, which is now Czech Republic.
AMTC kept growing under the patronage and able leadership of Mr Abobakr Omer Bazara who never looked back. AMTC imported the 1st Land cruiser (BJ Series) at Aden Port in 1956. During that time Yemen was the ninth biggest Auto importer in the world. Toyota's popularity grew sharply throughout the 1960's and Land Cruiser went on to became extremely popular among the local Yemenis.
