Football Association of Slovenia/ Nogometna zveza Slovenije - NZS

The Football Association of Slovenia is an organization that has been watching over Slovenian football for more than 100 years. Among the main successes during this time are two placements of the member national team at the world championship (2002 and 2010) and one at the European championship (2000). Despite the fact that the work of the NZS is usually evaluated in the general public through the Slovenian national team, the core of the activities of the central Slovenian football organization is much deeper and broader.

Among the missions of the NZS is the care for the development and spread of football in Slovenia, the education of football players, referees, coaches and other professionals, as well as cooperation with all bodies and organizations that can contribute to the development of sport and football, the promotion of the game of football in the spirit of fair play, prevention of all forms of illegal discrimination. In recent years, the NZS has brought greater order and transparency to the club sector with the successfully implemented licensing system for football clubs, which has further strengthened the NZS as a stable and transparent organization.

With the last placement at the world championship in the Republic of South Africa, new possibilities for the popularization of the world's most popular team game have opened up for the NZS, which, with the good and planned work of the NZS and the successes of the member national team, is gaining a well-deserved status even within the borders of the sports-diverse and extremely successful Slovenia.
