Special State Protection Service of Georgia

According to the decree N124 of June 23, 1994 of the State Security Service of Georgia, the State Security Service of the Republic of Georgia was established on the basis of the State Security Service of Georgia. Vakhtang Kutateladze was appointed as its head.

The functions of protection of diplomatic missions accredited to Georgia were transferred to the Governmental Service of the Republic of Georgia by decree N45 of August 4, 1994. Also, by the order of the head of state, the Department of Communications of the Government Protection Service of the Republic of Georgia was entrusted with organizing the installation and operation of the following means of communication:

Completely Secret Telephone Station - Commutator "SC";
Radio telephony closed connection;
Photo-document connection (encryption service);
Radio communication (aircraft);
Satellite telephone closed connection;
City government guaranteed telephone connection.
