About
The Andalusian School of Public Health was created by government agreement on May 2, 1985. It was constituted as a public company, with the character of a public limited company and full foundational capital of the Junta de Andalucía . It was inaugurated on July 19, 1985, being attached to the Ministry of Health and Consumption . The management bodies are the General Shareholders' Meeting, the Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors headed by the Director of EASP.
It is a collaborating center of the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization . He is a member of the main international associations of schools of public health and health management both in Europe and Latin America: EHMA (European Health Management Association), ASPHER (Association of School of Public Health in the European Region) and ALAESP (Latin American Association of Schools of Public Health).
Since 1988 there has been an agreement with the University of Granada by which it recognizes Master and Expert courses taught by the EASP as its own. A large number of national and international institutions and universities also maintain collaboration agreements with the EASP. Its main clients in the Andalusian autonomous community are the Ministry of Health and Consumption and the Andalusian Health Service . The School also works for professional societies, hospitals and regional health services throughout Spain as well as for third countries through projects of the European Union , the Pan American Health Organization and the World Bank .. The School integrates, through its Teaching, Consulting and Research projects, public health and management approaches, through which,
- Generates new knowledge and disseminates it among members of health organizations.
- It develops a continuous process of updating knowledge in response to variations in social demands and the evolution of health systems.
- Identifies relevant knowledge existing in organizations and the information flows necessary for its transmission.
- It creates spaces for the exchange and circulation of information and facilitates the transfer between the people who need it and those who generate it.
- It materializes knowledge by creating products, services and systems and implementing them in organizations.
