About

Livaningo is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), created in 1998 and recognized by the Ministry of Justice in 2001, a pioneer in Mozambique in dealing with issues of environmental management, natural resources and social well-being of communities. Livaningo's contribution in the area of Governance goes back to the end of the 90s, when a movement of civil society organizations, journalists, academics, individuals driven by the simple interest of protecting public health and the environment decided to create the organization to prevent the Government of Mozambique (GoM) with support from Denmark to set up a factory in the country for the incineration of toxic waste at the Matola Cement Plant.
