About
CHAI began work in Zimbabwe in 2006 and has closely collaborated with the government and other partners to transform the health system to offer innovative, cost-effective, and data-driven sustainable solutions to address the most urgent health needs. We have helped the government to rapidly improve treatment and care of HIV and tuberculosis (TB) for adults and children, increased efforts to prevent transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies, and are accelerating access to the newest and best HIV treatments and tools for diagnosis and prevention.
CHAI is helping the government provide lifesaving interventions to improve care for mothers and newborns in the critical window around childbirth, and we are helping the Ministry of Health and Child Care to reach its goal of malaria elimination through improved surveillance tracking and targeted response to the disease. We are also helping the government to reform its health financing structures, including the development and implementation of its National Health Financing Policy and Strategy, with the goal of achieving universal health coverage by 2030.
