TÜPRAG Metal Madencilik San. A.Ş.

Tüprag Metal Madencilik San ve Tic. A.Ş. is a wholly owned Turkish subsidiary of the Canadian-based mining firm Eldorado Gold Corporation. Our head office is in Ankara and we have a sample preparation laboratory in Çanakkale.

Tüprag A.Ş. was founded in 1986 to explore for and develop gold deposits in Turkey. The company has conducted exploration activities in hundreds of mineral exploration concessions. As a result, Tüprag A.Ş. discovered – and is now operating – two significant gold deposits in the country: Kışladağ in Uşak province and Efemçukuru in İzmir province.

The Kışladağ gold mine, which is located near Uşak, began commercial production in 2006 and is currently the largest gold mine in Europe, producing over 300,000 ounces of gold per year. To date, more than USD 650 million has been invested in the mine. With about 1,500 employees, the Kışladağ gold mine makes a considerable contribution to Turkey’s national economy.

Tüprag also operates the Efemçukuru gold mine located near Efemçukuru village in the Menderes district in İzmir province. To date, more than USD350 million has been invested in the mine.This mine employs nearly 500 people. Efemçukuru processes 600,000 tonnes of ore yearly from a vein-type mineralization to produce just under 100,000 ounces of gold annually.
