About
Amazon Web Services (AWS) was formed on July 1, 2018, when Amazon Web Services began operating from a new office based in Luxembourg. Formally known as Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, AWS Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc.
AWS Europe provides all invoicing and payment services based in countries and territories in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. AWS provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered, pay-as-you-go basis.
AWS comprises over 200 products and services including computing, storage, networking, database, analytics, application services, deployment, management, machine learning, mobile, developer tools, RobOps and tools for the Internet of Things. The most popular include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Connect, and AWS Lambda (a serverless function that can perform arbitrary code written in any language that can be configured to be triggered by hundreds of events, including http calls).
