About
ZOA works in Myanmar through local partners, since 2003/2004. We scaled up significantly in the aftermath of cyclone Nargis in 2008. The organization was officially registered in 2009 as The Consortium of Dutch NGOs (with Red een Kind and Woord en Daad). ZOA is now the sole governance structure and contributor, even though it is still registered locally as CDN. CDN/ZOA provides support to marginalized communities in Myanmar affected by conflict or natural disasters by providing equal access to relief, basic services and resources, and promoting good community governance to re-build peaceful and stable communities.
