UNIBEN - University of Benin

Benin University was founded in 1970 initially as the Institute of Technology before being upgraded to the status of a full-fledged university in 1971.

The university now offers courses at the postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma and certificate levels and currently has 40,000 students enrolled across the many faculties, both full-time and part-time in the departments of agriculture, public health and engineering.

The university is also recognized for pioneering research collaborations with other universities around the globe as well as with local and foreign organizations including USAID and the Ford Foundation.
