The Corn Spinato® is now protected as an agricultural variety for conservation and its seeds are kept in the Global Seed Vault, the world repository of seeds to be saved created under the ice of the Svalbard Islands in Norway. At Expo Milano 2015, the Gandino® Spinato Corn Community represented Italy in the Cereals and Tubers Cluster, of which it was a scientific partner. Since 2016 the Gandino® Spinato Corn accompanies the world tastings of “Benvenuto Brunello” of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino.
