Polytechnic School of Antananarivo (ESPA) an institution that has been operating since 1973 on the basis of the infrastructure inherited from various Higher Technical Education Establishments of that time, such as the Industrial Technology University Institute (IUTI), the National School of Public Works (ENTP), and the National Institute of Telecommunications and Posts (INTP).

It is a higher institution attached to the University of Antananarivo. Formerly called Polytechnic Higher Education Institution (E.E.S.P.), it received its new name by Decree n°91-148 of 26 March 1991 on the creation of Polytechnic School of Antananarivo.

THE MISSIONS OF THE ESPA

Polytechnic School of Antananarivo is a Higher Education Institution attached to the University. Its main missions are to ensure :

  • Initial training:
    Senior technicians
    Engineer
  • Postgraduate training:
    Doctoral training : Advanced Study Diploma (D.E.A.) and Doctorate
    Professional training : Diploma of Higher Specialised Studies (D.E.S.S.)
    Habilitation to direct research, particularly in the field of engineering sciences, 
  • In-service training for practising teachers and engineers.
