Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A. (PKP S.A.)

Polskie Koleje Panstwowe S.A. – PKP (Polish State Railways) is a government agency founded in 1926 that is the main company of the PKP Group which comprises PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, PKP Intercity, PKP Cargo, PKP Linia Hutnicza and other companies.

The agency’s main role is to control the assets of the PKP Group and provide comfortable and efficient rail transport for citizens. PKP S.A. is also one of the largest property owners in Poland whose resources include approx. 96 thousand ha of land and 52,000 buildings and structures. Its assets include both facilities that perform functions related to the transportation and service of travellers (railway stations) as well as strictly commercial properties. PKP S.A. carries out activities as a manager including attracting investments and finding ways to ensure the optimal management of railway land.
