Institute for the artistic, cultural and natural heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region / Istituto per i beni artistici, culturali e naturali della Regione Emilia-Romagna

The Institute for the artistic, cultural and natural heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region (IBC) was born in 1974 and was suppressed by the Emilia-Romagna Region on 31 December 2020. From 1 January 2021 all the functions of the Institute have been attributed to the new Cultural Heritage Service.
For over 40 years it has operated as a technical-scientific body and programming tool of the Region in the sector of artistic, natural, book and documentary assets. As such, it has promoted and carried out cognitive and operational activities, of investigation and research, for the restoration and enhancement of the heritage, the enhancement and conservation of some landscape elements (monumental trees), for the performance of any function relating to the assets cultural activities by providing advice to the Region and local authorities in these fields.
