Studentensport Nederland / Student sports Netherlands

Student Sports Netherlands is the national umbrella organization of the local sports councils (OSSOs). About 130,000 sports students form the supporters of Student Sports Netherlands.

The OSSOs represent the interests of student sports associations and / or individual athletes at the local level. Just like the OSSOs, we represent the interests of the sporting student, both in top and in recreational sport and for both the bound and the unbound athlete.

After all, enough and regular exercise benefits the student's vitality. This not only benefits the physical health of the student, but sport also provides relaxation and social contacts. All these factors benefit the study results.

In addition, the experience that the student gains in the student sports world can also be used in later life. This not only has to do with gaining work experience in committees, but also the sports mentality is useful for the student in the rest of his life. SSN therefore believes that sports (more specifically student sports) contribute substantially to the development of the individual.

SSN's policy focuses on both making sports possible immediately and ensuring that the preconditions for this are optimal. In this way the student is able to practice his or her sport as well as possible.

SSN is the governance body of the national students sport in the Netherlands. SSN stages the GNSK & the NSK's.
