Philippe Rixhon Associates is an engineering office working on digital rights and royalties with creative enterprises, digital service providers, industry trade bodies and government agencies.

Policy engineering: we are working on the technical feasibility and implementation of copyright policies with the European Commission, Intellectual Property Office (UK) and Open Music Initiative (USA). We also worked with the Copyright Protection Centre of China, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (UK) and the European Parliament.

Systems engineering: we are designing EMMA - Electronic Markets for Media Assets linked to DisTRi - an open, public and auditable Distributed Trusted Rights Framework. EMMA and the underlying DisTRi will comply with the European Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market and rely on modules of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure.

Philippe Rixhon Associates was founded in Basle in 1983 and moved to London in 2004. We contributed substantially to the global positioning system, logistics simulation, next generation networks, computer integrated manufacturing, rule-based systems, predictive maintenance, embedded systems, data mining and analytics, augmented simulcasts, online, mobile and in-video commerce.
