Xsensio develops the unique Lab-on-Skin™ sensing platform to sense in real-time biochemical information at the surface of the skin, providing unprecedented real-time information about our health and wellness, in a simple and non-invasive way.

Xsensio is a young startup aiming at the development of wearable computing based on a multi-parameter sensing embedded in garments and able to detect and categorize complex states of the body such as hydration levels, fatigue and alertness levels that can be importance for achieving high performance and/or for optimally personalized training in sports.

The approach is based on multi-parameter sensing of biological signals such as ECG, breath, skin conductivity, body temperature, pH of the sweat, etc., complemented by sensors that can (de)correlate the effect of environment parameters (temperature, humidity, pollution particles). The distributed sensors and powered by rechargeable batteries and/or energy harvesting technology embedding in the same garments.

The collected data is processed and stored in a central hub unit that includes a low power processor, local non-volatile memory and a wireless interface (low power Bluetooth), which communicates to a gate-way (smart phone) where a specific algorithm is implemented in a dedicated application.
