Maikhanda Trust

Maikhanda Trust is a Malawian non-governmental organisation established and registered under Trustees Incorporation in 2006 to implement interventions that would lead to reduction in maternal and newborn mortality in Malawi.  The Maikhanda programme is aligned with the key objectives of the ‘Road Map’ developed in 2005 to accelerate the attainment of the Millenium Development Goals relating to maternal and child health (reduction of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality and Morbidity) in Malawi. Maikhanda works in close partnership with Reproductive Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health towards the achievement of this ‘Road Map’ by supporting their efforts to improve maternal and newborn healthcare simultaneously in communities and health facilities.
