Workers Dignity

Workers’ Dignity is organizing to build a Nashville that values ALL people. They believe people directly impacted by injustice, especially low-wage workers facing abuse by employers, BIPOC and working class neighbors who live in under resourced and overpoliced neighborhoods, and immigrants facing increased ICE raids and detention, are ideally situated to have the knowledge and capacity to create sustaining and equitable change.
They’re fighting for safe construction worksites with worker-led monitoring, freedom from exploitation, and living-wages through their commercial construction campaign. They facilitate weekly Know Your Rights and training workshops to support workers to win back stolen wages from abusive employers. They’re building political power through Participatory Democracy Projects that support everyday people to take active roles in developing and implementing policies that transform their living conditions. They’re fighting for radio airwaves that reflect their communities and amplify the voices of working people on 104.1FM Radio Dignidad. And with the Nashville People’s Budget Coalition they’re fighting to defund the police and invest in real public safety things like equitable public transit, actually affordable housing, quality public education and more.
