GrowNYC

GrowNYC is an environmental organization founded in 1970 and based in New York City. Our mission is to improve New York City's quality of life through environmental programs that transform communities block by block and empower all New Yorkers to secure a clean and healthy environment for future generations. We envision a New York in which every New Yorker can flourish. Every garden. Every school. Every street. Every neighborhood. Every borough.

We blanket the five boroughs with resources like textile and food scrap collection, Stop 'N' Swaps, and free training to make waste reduction easy for all. We build and support community and school gardens through volunteer days, technical assistance, training, school garden grants and more. We foster future environmental stewards by providing 70,000 children each year with programs that provide meaningful interactions with the natural environment.
