 Practice Areas

  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning. ME&A has completed over 130 evaluations and assessments in more than 50 countries around the world. From Asia to Eastern Europe, Africa to Latin America, our evaluation teams design and implement performance evaluations, assessments, and population-based surveys providing clients with measurable results and actionable learning insights to improve their organizational performance.
  • Human and Institutional Capacity Development. ME&A uses data-driven Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) methodologies and tools to assist public administration and municipal development officials, businesses, civil society, and other USAID partner organizations in their quests for performance excellence. Our services empower HICD recipients to better meet the needs of their countries, their citizens, and their stakeholders.

  • Water and Natural Resource Management. ME&A's expertise in water and natural resources management extends across a wide spectrum of methodologies from strategic planning and design, technical support, and capacity building to data collection, assessment, analysis, knowledge management, and more. We apply these methodologies to economic growth and energy, agriculture and food security, global health, and democracy and governance.

  • Communications and Knowledge Management. ME&A works with clients to ensure the right people, processes, and technology are in place to support knowledge exchange and achieve behavioral, attitudinal, and informational strategic communications objectives. We conduct rigorous research to understand target audiences and deliver to them usable knowledge at the right time to affect change.
  • Governance, Democracy, and Public Administration. ME&A promotes transparent local governance, public administration, decentralization, and democracy building. The solutions we create affect real change when and where it is needed most in the areas of public policy, management and organizational reform, elections and electoral systems, legislative development, citizen involvement, and public information and civic education campaigns.

  • Economic Growth through Regional and Local Economic Development. At ME&A we believe that Regional and Local Economic Development (LED) is key to sustainable growth, the reduction of poverty, and the elevation of a society’s indices of wellbeing. To develop successful LED strategies, we engage all stakeholders in participating in the process and promote a sense of ownership and commitment to sustainable entrepreneurial solutions.
