About
The ifz sees itself as a place where “science for people” is made possible and made tangible. It offers space for interdisciplinary research on socially relevant issues. The ifz sees itself as a platform for ideas and solutions for society, the church and the economy; as a form of scientific work that serves people; as a place where people from the academic and non-academic fields meet.
The ifz promotes a scientific culture in which cooperation is promoted, in which the personality of the scientist counts, in which questions and not disciplines are thought, in which work is solution-oriented, in which creative ideas are supported. The ifz especially invites young scientists to become part of a research community. The ifz wants to contribute to the education and promotion of new scientific generations.
The ifz works in close cooperation with the University of Salzburg and the Salzburg Ethics Initiative. It is an institution of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, funded by the City and State of Salzburg, the Catholic University Association and the Association of Friends of IFZ eV Munich.
