About
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is the specialized agency in agriculture of the Inter-American System that supports the efforts of its 34 member states to achieve agricultural development and rural well-being.
Since 1942, IICA has provided excellent international technical cooperation, responding in a timely manner to new challenges and opportunities in the agricultural sector, in order to achieve an increasingly inclusive, competitive and sustainable agriculture.
Agriculture in the Americas has the potential to become a true engine of development, capable of generating economic growth and prosperity for the populations of that region. Unleashing the potential of the agricultural sector is crucial to solving one of humanity's greatest challenges: achieving food security.
