As the conflict escalates in Yemen with no end in sight, the UN reports that 80% of the population is in need of acute humanitarian aid, 12 million are children.

More than 20 million Yemenis are at risk with many being forced into a life of poverty and Famine. With limited access to basic needs, the fight for survival – especially during a global pandemic – is a real one.

For the children of Yemen, the survival against armed conflict, abuse, diseases, malnutrition and poverty are everyday tests of life they need to pass just to stay alive. Deprived of all of life’s most basic needs including education, two million children are out of school and many are at risk of falling into famine.

Education is the key, that will unlock all doors of opportunity for these young lives and will become their most valuable asset. Education is our biggest weapon in the fight against poverty.

Now, the pandemic has created a new emergency within an already escalating humanitarian crisis.
