Djiboutian Geothermal Energy Development Office
The Djiboutian Office for Geothermal Energy Development is a utility and public law entity with financial autonomy.
ODDEG is in charge of research, studies, exploration and development of natural resources.
The creation of an institutional mechanism called ODDEG (Djiboutien Office for the Development of Geothermal Energy), conveniently supports the implementation of the ambitious objectives of the Djiboutian Government to enhance and accelerate the development and exploitation of undeniable geothermal resources.
The missions and objectives of the Office are as follows:
- Identification of the various types of geothermal resources in the country (high and low energy) as well as exploration, reconnaissance and studies.
- Carrying out pre-feasibility and feasibility studies aimed at the industrial development of these resources and the diversification of their uses.
- Identifying and possibly helping to set up, with appropriate partners, public and private operators likely to ensure the development of geothermal energy production, and any associated products.
